THE THRESHOLD

Death, Grief & Becoming

31 July - 2 August 2026

Retreat at Raven Crest Botanicals

Where we honor what’s ending and step into what’s becoming

Reserve Your Place

You’re not who you were…

but you’re not fully anchored in what’s next.

Something is shifting.

Maybe you feel it in your body before you can name it.
A quiet disorientation.
A sense that the way you’ve been moving no longer fits.

Maybe it’s been unraveling for a while.

An identity.
A relationship.
A way of being.
A version of you that no longer holds.

And even if you can feel what’s ending…
you may not fully know what’s emerging yet.

That space in between?

That’s the threshold.

Most people try to rush through this part.

They try to think their way out of it.
Push forward.
Find clarity.

Especially if you’re someone who is used to holding everything together.
For your clients.
Your family.
Your work.

But this isn’t something to solve.

This is something to be with.
To honor.
To allow.

This retreat exists because…

We are always in cycles of ending and becoming.

In cycles of change, of impermanence.
Even when part of us tries to hold things in place.

But there are very few spaces where you are supported in honoring what is ending, witnessing what is shifting, and allowing what is becoming to emerge.

Without rushing.
Without fixing.
Without bypassing.

Most people move through these thresholds alone.
Quietly holding it together while something deeper is asking to be felt.

This is a space where you don’t have to do that.

THE HEART OF THE WEEKEND

Most of us wait for loss to arrive before we let ourselves grieve.

We hold on, white-knuckling the version of ourselves we recognize, even when it stopped fitting a long time ago, even when we already know somewhere beneath the performance of keeping it together that it's gone.

The Living Funeral gives you something most people never get: the chance to let go on purpose, not because something was taken from you, but because you chose to put it down.

Through guided meditation, reflection, and sacred ritual, you will be invited to symbolically lay to rest what is ready to go. The identity you've been carrying. The story that no longer serves you. The version of yourself you've been holding together for everyone else.

You will write what needs to be said. You will be led through a death visualization that people consistently describe as one of the most liberating experiences of their lives. Not because it's heavy, but because it's honest.

When you come out of it,
something is different.

People move differently. They look different. The colors are literally brighter. You feel grounded in your body in a way that thinking your way through transition never produces, because you didn't think your way through this.
You went through it.

One person said afterward: "I felt like there was nothing else to lose, so I could just be completely present." Another said: "There was so much love in the room afterward. A warmth I hadn't expected, but that made complete sense."

That warmth isn't incidental, it's what happens when a room full of people stop performing and finally put something down together.

This is not therapy, not morbid, and not for people who are dying.
It is for anyone ready to stop performing the version of themselves
they've already left behind.

What comes after is clarity. Embodied presence.
The kind of discernment that arrives when you're no longer
carrying what isn't yours anymore.

That is what this clears the way for.

The becoming. The emerging. Everything that has been
waiting on the other side of the letting go.

THE THRESHOLD

Three days held by the forested land of Raven Crest Botanicals, as you soften into what is ending and create space for what is becoming.

A space to slow down, reconnect with your body, and gently process
what is moving through you, supported as you cross into your next chapter.

This is not about becoming someone new overnight.
It’s about learning how to be with transformation in a way
that is grounded, embodied, and real.

This is not therapy.
And it’s not about fixing you.

Grief is not a problem to solve.
It’s something to recognize.
To honor.
To sit with.

You will not be pushed beyond your capacity.
You will be supported in staying present with what is here.

Imagine Three Days Where…

You wake up and your first instinct
isn’t to reach for your phone.

You step outside and the air feels different.
Slower. Cleaner.

The first sounds you hear are birds, frogs, bees...
the quiet hum of the land
waking up alongside you.

You notice your body before your thoughts.

There is nothing to solve.
Nothing to hold together.

You’re just here.

You sit with others who understand
what it feels like to be in-between.

You say something out loud
you haven’t been able to name before.

You feel it move.
Not all at once, but enough to notice.

You spend time in silence
without needing to fill it.

You begin to trust what's unfolding,
even without fully understanding it yet.

You can hear the quiet voice within,
and recognize it as your own.

And for the first time in a while…
you're not trying to carry it, fix it, or rush past it.

You're not looking back at who you were.

You're beginning to recognize
who you're becoming.

SOUND & CEREMONY

Samer Ghadry and I have been friends and collaborators for years, and lifetimes, really. There are people you meet and immediately recognize. Samer is one of those people.

He is a musician and sound healing practitioner based in Brooklyn, and he will be with us for the entire weekend at The Threshold. Not as a guest performer dropping in for a session, but as a presence woven through the whole experience. He will hold sound during the meditations and hypnotic journeys, during ritual, and at the close of the Living Funeral, which is exactly where sound belongs.

Samer works with gongs, bowls, tuning forks, chimes, percussion, shruti, and voice, layering them in a way that is sensitive, tuned, and impossibly responsive to what is happening in the room. He doesn't perform. He listens, and then he plays into what he hears.

The result is something that holds you without asking anything of you.

After the kind of work we'll be doing together, that is exactly what the body needs.

Sound reaches places words can't. After a ceremony like the Living Funeral, language often isn't what's needed. What's needed is to be held in something larger than thought, and that is what Samer does.

Having him at The Threshold is an honor.

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine it.

The ceremony is complete. Something has just moved through the room. And then the sound begins, and your body finally has somewhere to be still and let go.

WHAT WE'LL MOVE THROUGH

The weekend follows a natural rhythm. There is structure, and there is space between the structure. You will not be moving from one thing to the next all day. You will have time to feel what's happening, let it settle, and integrate before the next experience opens.

Across the weekend, you’ll be supported through:

Living Funeral Ceremony

The heart of the weekend. A guided ritual of intentional release, where you will lay to rest what is ready to go and create space for what is becoming. People consistently describe this as one of the most unexpectedly liberating experiences of their lives.

Guided Somatic Practices

Gentle breathwork and movement that help your body process what your mind has been carrying alone. Grief lives in the tissue, not just in the thinking.
This is how we reach it.

Hypnotic Journeys & Meditation

Guided hypnosis that bypasses the analytical mind and accesses the deeper layer where the old stories actually live. Not relaxation. Reprogramming at the root.

Ritual & Ceremony

Intentional practices that mark what is ending and create space for what is beginning. Because transitions deserve to be witnessed, not just endured.

Becoming & Integration

Space to explore who you are on the other side of the releasing, without being rushed into having it figured out yet.

Sharing & Witnessing Circles

A space to be heard without having to explain yourself or hold it together. Sometimes the most healing thing is being witnessed by people who understand exactly where you are.

Gratitude & Offerings

Simple practices of sacred reciprocity to reconnect you with the earth and the unseen; honoring endings, acknowledging beginnings, and finding meaning in the in-between.

Grounding in Nature

Time on Raven Crest's 325 acres to walk, breathe, and let your nervous system do what it knows how to do when you stop demanding things of it.

Integration Time

Unstructured space where nothing is asked of you. This is where the deeper shifts actually land.

There is no pressure to perform or participate in a certain way.
You are supported in moving at your own pace.

WHAT SHIFTS

This is not about becoming someone new.

It is about what remains…
when you stop holding everything on your own.

The body softens.
The noise begins to thin.

What felt urgent loosens its grip,
and stillness comes back quietly, without you forcing it.

What you've been carrying begins to release.
Not all at once, but enough to make space.

You begin to honor what is ending
without turning away from what is becoming.

Less urgency to fix. More willingness to stay.

You leave with a clarity that isn't loud or forced.
It's steady. Grounded.

A clearer sense of what is yours to hold
and what is ready to be set down.

And maybe, for the first time in a while…

You begin to listen to yourself again.

MEET YOUR GUIDE

Lindsey Guttilla is a medium, death doula, grief educator, spiritual mentor, and hypnotherapist who works at the intersection of death, healing, and transformation.

She supports individuals navigating profound life transitions — including grief, loss, illness, and identity shifts — helping them move through the thresholds of what is ending and what is becoming.

Her work is grounded in both lived experience and years of guiding others through complex, layered processes of change.

Through intuitive perception, somatic awareness, and deep presence, she creates spaces where people can be witnessed, supported, and gently guided back to themselves.

She does not rush the process.
She does not bypass what is surfacing.

She meets you where you are,
and walks with you from there.

THE LAND

Raven Crest Botanicals is a working medicinal herb farm on
325 acres of beautiful land in upstate New York.

There is a quiet to this place that you feel almost immediately.

Not because anything dramatic happens.
But because your body starts to slow down.

You’ll notice it in small ways.

The sound of water moving through the creek.
The way the light shifts through the trees in the late afternoon.
The absence of constant noise.

There is space here.

Space to walk.
Space to sit.
Space to not be “on.”

You can move through the gardens,
rest by the pond,
or simply lie on the earth
and let your system settle.

Nothing is required of you here.

And then, something begins to soften.

Not because you forced it.
Because your body finally has the space to.

THE RHYTHM

This retreat is intentionally spacious.

We begin Friday afternoon and close Sunday.

There is no rushing.
No pressure to keep up.

Time opens here.

You’re not moving from one thing to the next —
you’re moving with what is present.

There is space to rest.
To step away.
To follow what your body needs.

This is where the deeper shifts happen.

WHAT PEOPLE LOVE ABOUT OUR RETREATS

There's something that happens here that's hard to fully explain.
But it's felt. And it stays with people long after they leave.

"Lindsey holds space in a way that is both incredibly grounded and deeply intuitive. I've done a lot of retreats and inner work, but nothing has ever touched me the way this did. Something shifted in me that weekend that I'm still integrating."

"There is something truly special about Raven Crest. The land itself feels alive, supportive, and deeply calming. Between the trees, the quiet, and the energy of the space, I could finally exhale. It felt like a reset I didn't know I needed."

"Lindsey has a way of guiding you without ever forcing anything. Her presence is steady, intuitive, and incredibly safe. I was able to access parts of myself I had been avoiding for a long time. I left feeling clearer, lighter, and more connected to myself than I have in years."

"Nothing compares to being on this land. The trees, the quiet, the space. It changes how you feel in your body within hours. I didn't realize how disconnected I was until I finally slowed down and felt like I could breathe again."

"This retreat met me exactly where I was. I came in feeling lost, in between versions of myself. The space allowed me to honor what I was letting go of while gently opening to what's next. It wasn't rushed. It wasn't forced. It was exactly what I needed."

"What stands out about Lindsey is how she holds space. There is a feeling of acceptance and support for every person, exactly as they are. That level of feeling seen allowed me to drop in and do the work in a way I haven't been able to anywhere else."

WHO THIS IS FOR:

This is for you if you've been carrying
a version of yourself that you already know,
somewhere underneath the
performance of keeping it together,
has already gone.

If you're the person everyone else leans on,
and you can't remember the last time
you had space to put it all down.

If something is ending
and you haven't had permission to grieve it properly,
because it's not the kind of loss
anyone throws a funeral for.

An identity.
A relationship with who you thought you were becoming.
A chapter that closed without ceremony.

If you're craving clarity
but you know forcing it isn't working.
What you actually need is to
slow down long enough to hear yourself again.

If you feel the pull toward this even if you can't fully explain why.

That pull is enough. It's exactly where it begins.

THIS IS NOT FOR YOU IF…

You're looking for a quick answer or a way around what you're feeling. This work moves through things, not past them.

You want someone to tell you what to do without being willing to sit with your own process. The answers you're looking for are already in you. This just creates the conditions to hear them.

You are in acute crisis or
need clinical mental health support.
This is a deeply held and supportive space, and it is not a replacement for therapy or medical care.

You're not open to slowing down.
The whole retreat is built on spaciousness.
If that feels threatening right now,
this might not be the right moment.

You're not willing to take responsibility for your own experience. Everyone here is doing their own work.
That's what makes the container safe for all of us.

HELD BY THE LAND

Raven Crest is the kind of place where something in you begins to shift, without effort.

There is a quiet here that you don’t have to create.
A steadiness you can feel as soon as you arrive.

Forest, open sky, medicinal gardens, and spaces designed for rest, reflection, and presence.

This is a place where your nervous system can settle.
Where you can step out of the noise and back into something more natural, more grounded.

Take your time here.
Walk the land.
Sit in stillness.
Let yourself be held by the space as much as the work itself.

THE FOOD

Every meal at Raven Crest
is prepared on site by Michelin star chef Jakub Baster.

Local, seasonal, and made with
the kind of care you can actually taste.

From Friday evening through Sunday lunch, you will be nourished in the most literal sense of the word. Think tulsi iced tea with honey and lacto-fermented vegetables on arrival. Flan made with Hawthorn Valley milk. Holy basil maple granola with yogurt and currants at breakfast. Farm banh mi with daikon kimchi. Strawberry and sumac kefir. Indulge in a strawberry clafoutis as the sun goes down.

Mealtimes here are not an afterthought.
They are part of the rhythm of the weekend. A chance to slow down together, share what is moving through you, and receive something beautiful. Pleasure and nourishment as their own kind of medicine.

You won't think about food once.
It will simply arrive, beautiful and alive, and
your body will know exactly what to do with it.

When your nervous system is already softening
from the land and the work,
food like this becomes part of the medicine.

A GLIMPSE INTO THE EXPERIENCE

Mornings begin slowly, with gentle somatic movement,
breathwork, and guided meditation or hypnotic journeys.
The body waking before the mind.

Afternoons open into spaciousness. Time to walk the land, sit in stillness, rest, or wander through the gardens at your own pace. Nothing asked of you. Nowhere to be.

Evenings soften into connection and reflection. Through ritual, quiet integration, or simply being together as the day settles around you.

You'll stay in thoughtfully held spaces across the land, from the cozy Mullein House to secluded woodland cabins, or sleeping beneath the open sky.

Falling asleep to the sounds of the forest.
Waking to light moving through the leaves.

This is not just where the retreat takes place.
The land itself is part of the medicine.
